Second Row Seat options in 1997 Defender 110

I’ve bought a 1997 Defender 110 to restore for a camping vehicle. However it came with no second row seats. Just wondering if anyone on this forum has any recommendations about which seats to run in them. I’d prefer something a bit more modern than the original 60/40 split seats. I understand the Puma second row seats fit however they are becoming harder to come by.

If anyone has any recommendations on what they have used previously in the second row, would love to hear your thoughts

    Cheers 👍🏼

As well as the Puma seats ( which are very good seats) you will need all of the anchoring paraphenalia for the floor.
In my 1992 200tdi 110 station wagon I removed the standard middle row and replaced with Exmor Hi Back seats which gave better neck and head support for the two girls. They do not fold forward as good as the origionals but better for kids. Probably do not make them any more. If you want photos I'llput them up.

Hey mate, yeah if you have photos that would be awesome. My problem I have though is I don’t even have the seat bases/metal frames for the seats to bolt onto. Did Exmoor supply those with the seats or did you removed your seats from the frame? Good to know Exmoor make them though, I thought they only really sold re trim kits.

You could buy the backs or the base individually. The bases just replaced the existing bases using the same bolt holes. You could get a lower backed middle seat for the middle row.I will take photos tomorrow and get them up. I did post photos on the seat some years ago but I have no idea in what topic.

The Puma seats we have are a big improvement on previous seats, if you could find a wrecked Puma.
I wonder what the cost would be to import a set from the UK?

They are the 3rd row seats from a 110 (or 2nd row from a 90). Quite a different animal to the 2nd row seats.

But from what I’ve heard it’s a bit of a job to be able to mount Puma seats on a pre 2000 110? How did you go about mounting yours if you don’t mind me asking?

That is why their is only 2
(I’ve got the old side benches in the 110)
Maybe a custom frame and a bit of Land Rover owners ingenuity could make them fit

Hey everyone, just an update, I’ve actually managed to find a conversion kit to be able to install Puma style seats to a pre 2000 defender so I think I’ll go that way. I’ll post the link below. They also sell the tube frames to mount the original seats incase of a situation like mine and the whole assembly is gone. Thanks for everyone’s help and advice on this thread 👍🏼
