    Hi team

Does anyone have a photo of an SC80 MkIII installed in a Defender 300Tdi with a/c? Just interested to see if there is enough room in the battery box without having to move the additional a/c wiring and fuses.

    Cheers - Simon

    Dual battery setup MY12 D90

Hi there, I also have a MY12 D90 - have purchased the Traxide dual battery system but alas, it's probably beyond by basic skills - I am based in Altona North - would you be able to share the details of your Landy installer with me so I can get this sorted?
    Many thanks
    Thor

Hi Thor and what are you not sure about, because I and others here will talk you through the install if you want to try it yourself.

There are plenty of posts around on it - trouble is there seems to be no 'best' way to do it!!
Battery tray or not? move the cranking battery to make room or not?
Which battery is best? I have a 90Ah cranking battery - unsure about which battery to add into a dual system..... deep cycle or not?
I don't want to start something if I find out halfway through I need extra parts etc...... The Traxide instructions are pretty explicit - just the starting of the project.....
    I'd appreciate your thoughts......
I am only looking to run a fridge off the system, maybe charge a few phones and run an external light when camping.........

Simplest setup is to use a piece of timber under the batteries, Job Done.

While a Deep Cycle battery can be used, but for optimum performance of the Traxide Isolator, a CRANKING battery is best. Try an SSB HVT50D, this is a 60Ah Cranking battery.

You can move the cranking battery from an east-west position to a north-south position and then the auxiliary battery will easily fit beside it on the timber "tray"

The Traxide kit has all the cables that will be located in the battery box, are pre-assembled and are literally Plug-n-Play.

You only have to wire up the cargo area, to meet your requirements

Thanks for this - the kind of advice I was looking for!!
My cranking battery is already north-South oriented so that makes it a little easier.
I'll measure up the hole to make sure my second battery fits!!
I will get onto it this weekend.....
Many thanks for your help with this...... electrics is not my strong point!!!

When I purchased my 300Tdi many years ago a second battery had been fitted.
I did tidy up the installation and cut some timber for underneath the second battery.

There's been a few different battery configurations over the years.

    Nice thread bump….

Cannot help you out with an installer, while it is pretty straight forward if you have basic skills, but if you’re not sure than I’m sure you’ll find a local mob that’ll get the job done.

Once upon a time I had a set up similar to what you’re installing but don’t have any pics….but have since moved onto to redarc and now Enerdrive.
