I’m no expert but have just rebuild my lt230. As I believe, if you’ve just replaced the intermediate gears, and not the others the teeth may be worn a different way causing a mesh issue that results in noise. Don’t know if it’s bad to just drive like that (if they’ll wear quicker) or not though, I guess you could monitor for metal shavings in the oil?? Mine is slightly noisier at certain speeds now but at least I know the bearings are new and the preloads are set exactly how the manual states. (My intermediate gears had a lot of play before hand)
I don’t see how having bearings slightly too tight would cause a whine, only if they were loose and the gear was moving around.
