    Warped exhaust manifold again!

For the second time in the last year, my manifold warped. As this is my daily now, figured I would tackle it sooner rather than later. Hardest part of removing the warped one, (had a exchange one that I de webbed and had skimmed) was getting the back turbo heat shield bolt off. Never accomplished it, rather I drilled out two rivet's, and left the support bar in place.

On stubborn studs, I applied heat from a $10 servo butane torch. They came out easily after application of the heat.

On torquing the nuts, the bottom right stud just spun in place. Probably part of the reason the last one warped. The whole manifold came back off, and a Helicoil kit was purchased. drilled out the hole, and tapped. Applied the helicoil, and re installed the manifold. All nuts now torqued to specs.

First photo leaking front and back cylinder. Lots of carbon.
Second photo. Tapping prior to inserting Helicoil.

Happy with the result, other than spending more money on the Helicoil kit, and scraped knuckles.
