    I reckon my Td5 has the best fuel economy for the Simpson Desert

    A shame that you weren't at Mount Dare a week earlier as you could have given me a tow to Kulgera Roadhouse.
    We were attempting to cross the Simpson from West to East with 5 other vehicles.
    Our 2002 Td5 made it to about 20km east of Dalhouise and halfway up the first dune before our Defender went up in a puff of white smoke.
    Managed to limp back to Mount Dare and towed out the next day.

    Our last TD5 D2,used similar amount of fuel to the OP.

    Did the same trip in the D4,and it used around 15% more,although i recon it was loaded with more gear.
