    130 single cab TD5 farm truck

    Hi All,
    looking at a 130 single cab for the farm. The truck has 190K klms and is pretty good condition. The bigger tray will probably be handy on the farm, but I’m just wondering if there are any negatives to having a 130 ute.
    once I have it home, I’ll send it in for the usual remap work and will probably consider a change of rims and tyres as it gets muddy and steep in places here. Any recommendations for wheel rim and tyre combo.

    I have had a 2015 130 single cab since new. It has a 2600mm tipper tray.
    Can't see any negatives at all, Carries a ton easily and far better than a 110.
    I replaced my rear helper springs with airbags and frankly I should have left them standard.

    I had it fabricated by Obeico in Tamworth.
    It was fitted before I took delivery.
    Was around 10K with water tank and toolboxes would be dearer now.
    Easy enough to fabricate your own Look on Ebay for a 3 stage ram and pump.

    We have 2 of them.

    I find them good, but cab space is limited even more than the wagon/twin cab.

    They don't have a great turning "arc" but wouldn't matter on a farm, well I don't find it matters.

    The heater and air con are actually well suited to the cab size.

    They ride and handle better than a 110 and have higher load capacity, but a lot have had the inner springs removed from the back to soften them, which it probably does a bit, but I found the negatives far outweighed the positives.

    The only 'downside' I can see, as a farm truck, is that I reckon a Tdi would be a lot easier to maintain than a TD5
    It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".
