Defender wheel swap tyre size question (265/70 16's vs 235/85 16's)

Hi All, I have an option to swap my Defender SVX alloy rims for Black Sawtooth rims of the same size 16x7, which I'm looking at for a change of colour, however had a question about tyre size compatibiliy.

My tyres are Continental 235/85 R16's, however the owner currently has 265/70 R16's on the sawtooth's, we are each keeping our own tyres (but swapping over).

I know it sounds obvious, but am I correct that there will be no issue for either party as the rims are the same size?

    Cheers

That's a better deal, the 265/70 is undersized for a defender gearing.

265-70-16 is -2" diameter (way too small). Should be 265-75-16 to keep approimately the same height as the 235/85

Looks good... did you confirm if they are "75" profile? Certainly look to be.

    Hi Tombie,

We each kept our own tyres, just swapped wheels so these are Continental 235/85 R16's, and the other bloke kept his 265/70 R16's.
