    130 roof removal

Hey All - has anyone taken the roof completely off a 130? I need to repair the top of the bulkhead and before I get too carried away pulling trim out I wanted to see what holds the roof on at the back. I figure it will be easier to remove the whole thing than muck about trying to wedge it up given how short the roof is.

    Cheers,

    Adam

I'm assuming you're talking about the dual cab.

Yes I have taken the roof off before.

Once you take the lining out there's also a couple of brackets that hold the headliner on at the back that will need to be undone, and then it just unbolts.

Best to get a few extra pair of hands when you do it as it is awkward to lift off.

While you're at it consider replacing the foam rubber seals. Might also be worthwhile using a sealant around the seals between the roof and windscreen and the windscreen and bulkhead (one that can be easily removed if you ever have to do this again (ie: not sikaflex))

When putting it back on extra hands are also helpful to line up the pillars. I'd also suggest using NordLock washers rather than spring washers.

yep dual cab, well that sounds easy! Thanks for those tips I'll get myself organised. We have a overhead winch in the workshop so I can probably throw a couple of slings around it and lift the roof off vertically.
