    Replacing Panhard Rod bushes

I am in the process of replacing the panhard rod bushes on the County.

The first issue was removing the panhard rod. The bolts did NOT want to come undone. Soaking in penetrating oil enabled me to loosen them enough that I could undo them with my rattle gun. When I got the bolts out, there was no signs of the bolts being seized in the bushes.

The axle end bush seems to be in good condition, but the chassis end has the inner tube loose in the rubber, although there is not much movement. But this is clearly where the free play was.

I have, at this stage, removed the old bushes and fitted the new, using a tool I made for last time 10-15 years ago. This consists of about 40cm of 1/2W threaded road and an assortment of bits I have turned up to fit both these and Series bushes for removal and refitting.

The panhard rod has now had a coating of paint and I am waiting for it to dry.

Got the job finished about 1730. Without any further issues.
