there is no chequer plate on a "td5" bonnet , assuming you mean a D2.

No. I'm talking about adding chequer plate to the middle section of a Defender bonnet. I already have chequer plate on the wing tops. Can't seem to find the true 3mm chequer plate middle section specifically for 300tdi but have seen it for TD5.

I do have the fittings for bonnet mount spare and realise I will have to modify chequer plate to suit.

Defender Bonnet Protector - black - to 2007 - Paddock Spares also available in 3mm silver and Paddock's site confirms all defenders to end of TD5.
