    Defender Window Tinting

Hello All, Five years of inactivity has passed and I'm back trying to get my 2002 Defender 130 fit to travel again.

I just rang up my local window tinter, and spoke to the owner who'd been tinting cars for a long time.
He told me he could not tint the rear corner glasses. I offered to take them out of the car for him, and he said they were too small and they couldn't hide the shrinkage.
And he freaked out about the defender door clips, them breaking and not being able to find replacements.

I said I could probably take door trims out for him, and he seemed to warm to that idea.

I did get the car tinted in 2002, and it didn't seem to be a problem.

I didn't expect it to be a problem. Just wondering what others have done?
I'm in the Brisbane West - Ipswich area.

    Cheers
    Mark

    Which clips?

    https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic...nd/land-rover/

KLR have item 7 - MWC9918LCS on their website: Defender Door Trim Plastic Rivet - KLR Automotive

    and item 3 -- MXC1474
Door Trim Fastener Clip - KLR Automotive

MXC1800 -- Door Trim Fastener - KLR Automotive

I'm sure they could get or may have the other clips and sockets required.

I was hoping to get an idea if his reaction was unusual.
If not I may as well do the grunt work myself and just let the 'professionals apply the tinting.
