Seats and bases are essentially the same up to at least 2006, so there ought to be a few about. The foams and upholstery as well as seat bases I think are still available from Exmoor. Sounds a bit as if you need a different trimmer.

I was talking to Brad at KLR this morning and he suggests maybe AYM769 on their website.

No. A significant difference was when the later doors were introduced in 1987, the seats were moved inboard about an inch, and changed from two mounting bolts at each corner to one. But otherwise fully interchangeable, as you say. I fitted the later seats to my County with adaptors consisting of a flat piece of 8mm steel with three holes, the centre one tapped (needs another hole drilled in the seat box).

Sure enough, it is. The 110 county really was the odd one in the whole 110 Defender life, its makes it so difficult to source some 110 county parts such as the lift up door handles (that dont have lift up handles on the inside), heater box, dash parts on air con models etc.

Very early 110 Countys had the same seats as the Series 3. Later ones went to seats as described above, with the small change in the frames when the doors changed to pushbutton. Steering wheels also shrank at the same time. Both because of the thicker doors. Very early 110s had the same doors as the Series 3.

Just to clarify for those not already aware.

The Landrover Series 3 was followed in 1983 by the Landrover 110, and a couple of years later, by the Landrover 90. In 1989, with the introduction of the Discovery, the name "Landrover" was repurposed as a marque name not a model, to cover the Discovery and Rangerover as well as the Landrover. This meant that a new model name was needed for the Landrover, and the name "Defender" was selected, at the same time as the new 200Tdi engine, introduced for the Discovery, was fitted.

The term "County" is a trim level, which has been used on several different Rover (Leyland?) models, including Rangerover and Landrover. Because a large proportion of the 110s built in Australia were County trim level five door wagons, with the term "County" in 15cm high letters on the front doors, it became customary to call all 110s "County" when it was necessary to distinguish them from the later Defender. (The 90 was never built or sold in Australia until after the Defender appeared, although a few personal imports were seen.) The Australian production comprised five door wagons, two door utes, two door cab/chassis (or trayback), extended wheelbase cab/chassis, 6x6 trayback, 6x6 cab/chassis, and a limited run of dual cab utes. The only engines available were the V8 and the Isuzu diesel. In addition, there were the military 4x4 and 6x6 versions.

Re lift up door handles, do Perentie 4x4 fit? (Not 6x6 which appear to be Defender push button doors.)
