I have an ARB winch bar and am rebuilding a low mount (Magnum) winch to fit. I will be running synthetic rope.
The bar has a large protrusion at front where the roller fairlead would mount for when running wire cable.
I do have a appropriate fair lead for the dyneema rope, BUT
My concern is that the roller fairlead mounting point might be a potential place that dyneema rope could rub on when winching.
Is this something that is likely to happen? Should I cut that off? Or will it be OK and I'm worrying about nothing?
It's not broken. It's "Carbon Neutral".

It sounds like you have the same bar as I do Vlad and I too am considering cutting off all the protruding gumph where the roller fairlead is mounted, making the front flat and installing a hawse fairlead. I reckon the protrusion would be a potential snag for the rope, recovery winching is not always done at an angle that you would choose. One thing that concerns me a little is that the weldment across the front of the ARB bar where the roller fairlead is mounted, is probably also providing reinforcement for the winch.
