    Replacement bumper...issues

I put this up on Defender2 where it has more relevance than it will here but you can have a read.
Needed a replacement bumper so I ordered a galvanised one from Paddocks. It arrived and here are the photos. I was unable to fit it as the tabs with the bolt holes were too close together and needed stretching apart by 1/2 an inch. There is also a twist in the bottom part of the bumper. There is also some...rust. Anyway I contacted Paddocks and sent photos and I got a £40 refund to allow me to get the bumper fitted at a garage who will be able to spread the bolt tabs. Paddocks are generally good to deal with but this is awful quality. Fair enough it comes sealed in a cardboard box so Paddocks do not see the item before dispatch. Seems no one else has reported issues like mine so I must be just unlucky. Do not know what brand it is. With the Brexit thing I suppose it was too awkward to get it sent back. Happy enough with the £40 to off set the cost of getting it fitted as I cannot do it myself.

Second hand or (presumably) new? I'd be wanting a replacement or refund, Spud.

New bumper. Happy enough with the partial refund as it will allow me get it fitted. Should not have to do this. Since Brexit there are only a few companies geared up for the paperwork to ship from UK to EU.Paddocks do this, as do LR DIRECT. Getting it back from me to them would be an issue. Imagine getting a rear cross member or even a chassis made to the same standard, you would never be able to work around the imperfections!

That’s bull****, and they should simply have sent a new bumper.

I’ve had similar “offers” and will outright reject them.

I’ll bet you’ll spend more than 40 quid to have that fitted and straightened. Not to mention the galv is stuffed.
