Question Sourcing NEW Injectors for a 2010 2.4ltr Tdci Puma?

    Hey Guys,

My Puma is up to 220,000km mark and still has the original Injectors (AFAIK). The engine is running fine all be it I occassionaly hear the old rattle sound but I don't know if this is fuel brand related or an indication that the Injectors are coming to end of life.
I have a couple of remote trips planned for next year and I'm wondering if it would be wise to replace the Injectors even though the car is running fine and no real signs of more smoke or fuel usage than usual.

Looking for places where I can source new Injectors from (local or overseas) so if anyone can recommend businesses/websites that would be great.

Is there anything else that I should be looking at in relation to the fuel system (eg: Injector Pump)

What sort of kms do people normally get out of their Injectors and is there any signs that would tell u that it's time to replace the injectors &/or Pump?

    Thanks in advance

i recently replace my injectors, cheapest for genuine branded to supply was TR Spares in Padstow NSW. They were sub $400 each. Buying them in a LR box was about $750 each. So far so good. I didn't replace my injector pump. That was an expense i couldn't afford at the time and my pump was not showing signs of need of replacement. If you go for a pump, don't forget Ford and blueprint recos are much cheaper than LR.

I'd be replacing injectors with 220k kms on the odo especially if you have some big trips coming up. Replaced my first engine at 90,000 kms due to an injector burning a hole in 2 pistons. My rule of thumb is to treat them as a 150,000 kms service item.

I normally recommend on a 2.4 to do them round 150K.
On a 2.4 I also do the injector pipes as they don't often seal again regardless of how much you mess around.
Also replace the 2 retaining bolts

LR006803 Diesel Fuel Injector 2.4L Puma Def DENSO
    LR019168 Hex Bolt - Flanged - Injectors
    LR004466 Fuel Pipe - Fuel Rail To Injector 1 - 2.4 Puma
    LR004467 Fuel Pipe - Fuel Rail To Injector 2 - 2.4 Puma
    LR004468 Fuel Pipe - Fuel Rail To Injector 3 - 2.4 Puma
    LR004469 Fuel Pipe - Fuel Rail To Injector 4 - 2.4 Puma

    the plastic return line has a green plastic retaining clip, its a given they will break. search ebay;
"Ford Transit MK7 2.4 TDCi Fuel Leak-Off return Connector Clip"

the return line or leak off pipe if you break it (take care and you wont)
LR005749 Leak Off Pipe - Fuel Injectors - 2.4 Puma

the small orings on the plastic leak off pipe dont have a separate part number but the same oring on the 2.2 is the correct size
    LR019118 O Ring - Leak Off - 2.2 Puma
    Regards
