I have always wondered what the “cup holder” is for on the plastic engine cover of the puma diesel 2008 defender engine. Left hand side as you look into the engine bay.
Does anyone know what it’s really for?

Doesn’t a particulate filter go in the exhaust.
Maybe an oil filter of some type, centrifugal, similar to TD5?
lets you use the residual engine heat to keep your coffee warm while waiting for the NRMA.
