    Puma - weird issues??

    Reposted from FB.

Hi team. After a little help. Our 2012 2.2 Puma 90 has been throwing the check engine light over the past few months. Sometimes this clears itself but not always, and sometimes it goes into limp mode but not always. All codes point to the MAF which has now been replaced three times. Turbo and intercooler (big split in it) have also been replaced as other codes suggested issues here. All pipes replaced with silicone and the system smoke tested, no leaks found and everything else seems fine. It’s been tested by two independent Defender shops which are both very highly respected and the advise from both is the issue is the MAF. Anyway picked it up this afternoon (a week ago now) and running fine at present.

But we have a couple of new issues now which the mechanic has never seen before and only started with the latest check engine event. Sometimes when the ignition is turned off and then turned to accessory I position the trip meter resets to zero and the radio requires the PIN to be re-entered.
Any idea what causes either of these issues and how to fix permanently?

I now understand that the OBD, the radio head unit, clock, instrument cluster and interior light share the same fuse.

    Cheers Simon

the fuse for the interior light has popped, normally this happens when someone is replacing the blown globe and as they fit the new globe they touch the earth side of the light plate and it shorts.

off the top of my head i cant remember what fuse number it is, but under the steering column wont take long to find it.

    Thanks Dazza

I’ll have a poke around and see if I can find the fuse!
