    Brake pad recommendations

Hi guys, I'm about to do the disks and pads and my '96 130. I'm going to use DBA drilled and slotted rotors as I do tow some quite heavy loads at times so cooling is important but I'm wondering what everyone is using for pads on the 130. I've always used Bendix but I'm open to suggestions since this is a new vehicle type/model for me and I believe in listening to the voice of experience.

As I've said, I can tow some quite substantial loads at times but I also don't want a pad so hard that if I jump on the brakes after cruising on the highway for an hour without touching them that I'm not going to stop because they are cold. I don't ride brakes downhill, I use gears and in 40 years of driving I can't recall ever overheating a set of brakes on the road.

    Any thought are appreciated.

Have a read of Simon's thread, it's D2 not Defender, but the same pads are available for Defender.

Finally, a D2 with good brakes: EBC DBA
