    Puma defender behaving strangely

After 2 days happy higheay dtiving our 110 started Kangaroo hopping coming into West Wyalong. Maybe coincidental but the aftermrket cruise control fauled around the same tine. The engine idles ok and runs ok but the car is stumbling and clunking at low town speeds. 50 or less. Unplugging the clutch switch has helped. At highway speed there is sone clunking coning on and off the throttle but otherwise ok. Its worst when cold. Any clues as to what the problen is? Is it safe to keep driving? Are there any independent LrR mechanics withib say an hour of Dubbo
    Many thanks.

2.4 or 2.2? I've had similar symptoms with my 2.4, think it was a failing VCV which needs to be replaced from time to time. Dubbo about the 2.2

Hi Daz, the cruise control switch is in the off position. Does the whole cruise control wiring etx need to be disconnected from the accelerator pedal? Ta

Hi POD, the Mechanic I use says VCV or fuel vapour valve possible but rare on 2.2s like ours.

    Problem solved

Disconnecting the cruise control seems to have silved the problem courtesy of Andrews Auto Electrics. Disconnecting the clutch switch (done previously) haan't made it any harder to drive.
