Coolant Leak from manifold
I have a coolant leak on my defender 110 2.2
checked every thing and I think it’s coming from around one of the nuts holding the manifold on
question
will I need to fully replace the manifold gasket or could I simply remove the offending nut put some kind of sealant on it and replace and tighten it back up
it only a small leak so could this work ?

I assume you mean exhaust manifold (on the drivers side).
There is no coolant area/pipe etc on the cylinder head, nor do any of the exhaust manifold studs tap into a coolant passage.
my guess...
*coolant is leaking from the expansion tank cap spraying across onto the manifold.
*the egr heat exchange (big square thing behind the cylinder head) one of the coolant hoses that attach to the heat exchange is leaking, again onto the manifold.

Thanks Daz
had another look and what I thought was a coolant leak from the one bolt …….on the intake
manifold ?…..on the passengers side of the engine actually appears to be oil
so my question is would taking out that bolt and replacing it with a bit of sealant be a fix for the oil leak from that bolt or would the whole thing have to come off and replace a gasket
the coolant leak could be coming from some where around the oil cooler

The oil leak from the inlet manifold is the black oily residue from a combination of egr and the crankcase rebreather.
Its the inlet manifold seals that are leaking or weeping, generally not a big issue but can get bad enough over time that the egr assembly is leaking onto the starter motor.
To do the inlet manifold seals will require the removal of the manifold and seal replacement.
If bad it can be a sign that there is issues with something else such as excessive breathing, turbo leaking etc, but I would not go full on down that path.
if not too bad, id degrease it, pressure wash it clean, have a look at the next service.

Thanks for that I’ll clean it up and keep an eye the oil leak
cloolant leak appears to be from a loose pipe clamp …..probably not tightened up enough when I had the egr replaced …….
