    300tdi tappet slide orientation.

Hi guys, the Haynes manual clearly states to make sure the "F" is facing the front of the engine on reassembly.... I have just pulled all the cam follower bits and found some to be correct orientation and some facing backwards.... has anyone found this when pulling an "un-molested" motor apart? Or are my suspicions correct in thinking it has been tampered with? It's a sub-200k motor so my thoughts were that it hadn't been apart before now. Cheers fj

    Hi,
My engine rebuild manual also says "F" or "Front" to the front of the motor.
It also says to mark the front of the rollers and put them back in the same way.
As well as all parts back in the same location.

All the best with the rebuild, I, and I'm sure others, would find a build thread interesting.

    Tony
