Anyone else noticed that forum posts are slowing down?

There seems to be a marked decrease in forum posts in this section, I take it as a sign that Defender useage is declining. I reckon mine is amongst the oldest 4wd still in use amongst my acquaintances, outback and high-country tracks are clogged with asian vehicles (not to mention littered with asian mudflaps and bumper ends). Can't see the attraction.

Yes. I've noticed the same over on the D3/4 section. My take is that those who purchased new or near new were the ones who had the funds and clear plans of what they wanted the vehicle for and spent time modifying them and posting/seeking advice on this forum as it is such a good resource. Ditto for fixes, workarounds, new accessories etc.
That was fine when the vehicles still held a high value, but as market value declined, there was little incentive to over capitalise them and those with the funds moved on to another vehicle (often an L663 or perhaps a Grenadier).
Accordingly, those who purchased a decade old vehicle were able to get one with most of the mods they wanted, so most posts are now problem solving. Remember, the knowledge is still held in the forum posts and I'm guessing that those with the ability to do their own work are able to find the info they need with some decent searching.
The 110/Defender forum and the D3/4 forums were probably the most active. Neither forum vehicles have been in production for just on a decade. I'd say most of us have set our vehicles up as we want them and have no desire to change as long as they keep running so well.

Maybe others are having a difficult time logging on? I keep getting a 403 forbidden page more often than not. Just got lucky this time and got to log in. My log in success rate has been 98% unable to log in and 2% successful log in, but even then in the midst of replying or reading threads I would eventually encounter the 403 forbidden page so I sometime don't feel like logging in anymore

forum usage in general is slowing down to the point that many have completely folded and are gone forever.

facebook etc are killing them sadly and the knowledge stored in forums is slowly being lost or diluted

facebook is "okay in the now" but is not very good as a knowledge repository like forums.

sadly the aquired knowledge on facebook is diluted and scattered even more every time someone starts their own little group

Visitor numbers for AULRO.com are still high compared to many / most other forums but as you say post numbers are down.

is a sad reality but i personally think there will be an about face in not to distant future as personal data laws tighten on the likes of facebook etc

not to mention that AI is going to great lengths to steal everybodies knowledge for their own enrichment and give nothing back to the sources they raid.

on AULRO.com alone the were over 800000 lookup attempts on the system from AI bots the other day in a 6 hour period, they get bugger all here as they are blocked as soon as they pop up

all part of the spice of life....
