Yes. I've noticed the same over on the D3/4 section. My take is that those who purchased new or near new were the ones who had the funds and clear plans of what they wanted the vehicle for and spent time modifying them and posting/seeking advice on this forum as it is such a good resource. Ditto for fixes, workarounds, new accessories etc.
That was fine when the vehicles still held a high value, but as market value declined, there was little incentive to over capitalise them and those with the funds moved on to another vehicle (often an L663 or perhaps a Grenadier).
Accordingly, those who purchased a decade old vehicle were able to get one with most of the mods they wanted, so most posts are now problem solving. Remember, the knowledge is still held in the forum posts and I'm guessing that those with the ability to do their own work are able to find the info they need with some decent searching.
The 110/Defender forum and the D3/4 forums were probably the most active. Neither forum vehicles have been in production for just on a decade. I'd say most of us have set our vehicles up as we want them and have no desire to change as long as they keep running so well.
