I was doing duty as event Steward at an off-road motorcycle race today and ended up helping with getting a rider helivac'd out. The little Deefer got to run around the paddocks and then got sand and grit blasted by the landing helicopter. "Just land near the Defender" must have worked!
Finished the day getting a good coating of back-road dust by snapping at the heals of a Land Cruiser until we got to the tarseal where I pounced at a set of passing lanes.
That's one of the best shots I've seen!
Love the top photo. The landy looks like an effortless beast!
Not mine but 'found' it out and about today, looks great in something other than white lol
Course I might be classifying it wrong, not knowing these ones I might be overgeneralising the basic rectangle shape!
That's a Series 2 or 2a! Late 50s to early 70s era.
Nice find![]()
ah, there you go, I was wrong. I didn't want to look like a stalker going up close to look for badges lol. Gee LR didn't deviate far from their original shape did they. I didn't know those were so long, I've only seen short ones. First vehicle I ever drove was actually a short wheelbase, when I was 10 helping dad feed out hay to horses on a race horse stud out side of Sunbury. He stuck it in gear then I took over while he threw hay out the back
Guess the pic should be moved to another section
Upgraded from my last 4WD, a 1983 Shorty Patrol !
This is the first vehicle I have owned with power steering !
Amazing truck, chipped (computer not paintwork) , very economical and goes like a rocket.
This is Nigel and our camper trailer, known simply as "No. 5", at the 5 Rivers Lookout in Wyndham in July this year.
That was the high point (pardon the pun) of our 7940km holiday this year....
