How come you chose grey for the wheels. Black or white would have been obvious but not very original.

Serg/Uninformed chose the colour, they're his rims and Lou, they're g-e-n-u-i-n-e Mach V's.
I really like the colour too, it's different and suits the rims. The rims have transformed manoeuvring the old girl, the turning circle is vastly improved with more offset, yet so far I can't feel any difference on road with the increased scrub radius so they've worked out very well.
A few people asked my tyre bloke "where'd he get the rims ?" as they're so different to the usual fare on the TLC, Lolux, Patrol's and Navara's around here.
He told them I got them from the UK, took a day off work and flew over to pick them up. Yep, over and back in a day :lol2:

My 90 has ZU's on that I had delivered from the UK (Devon 4x4) so similar look (even if that's all!):D.
I would obviously have prefered Mach V's but their weight (airfreight price) put the package deal of 6 of them out my price range.
Still the best wheels by a country mile and well worth spending money on if you've got a container coming over!

Just bought myself a 300tdi defender. The owner saw my D2 and stage 1 parked out the front and knocked on my door with an offer I couldn't refuse. Little did he know I've wanted (lusted) just this model for too long. I've owned a variety of earlier landys and the coils and disc brakes and air con and power steering....are welcome luxuries. After gradually gaining confidence in it's 4WD ability, I'm surprised how good it goes compared to much lighter, performance modified landys I've driven. The bonus with this one is the extras it already has; LR tank, winch, snorkel, rear wheel carrier, OME suspension, dual batteries, etc means I don't have to beg SWMBO for extra funds. I'm so happy it hurts:D

Its been a while, but some pics of our new (to us) 2010 Defender, nothing fancy just a vanilla-flavoured puma but we love it and have been doing a few mods along the way and learning a lot. These pics taken last week on our first camping trip with the new set-up and a rented off-road camper trailer. Great fun!

How did you find the camprite trailer. I'm not much into trailers but it has always stuck me as a well designed and engineered bit of kit. Have wondered is a simpler version for a roof top tent would work. The way the beds cantilever would be ideal for kids.
The CampRite was a brilliant bit of kit – very heavy duty, very well thought out (clearly a lot of design iteration) and had plenty of space for our needs (2 adults, 2 gremlins)

Wow. Still cant quite work out where that price comes from. It’s a good bit of kit but its still just a box with a clamshell lid and a tent. Paid less than that for the Defender!
I’d like to pay maybe $10k for a s/h trailer somewhere down the track. Hiring this was $600/wk
