    cheers,

Looks just like the one I have sitting in my driveway - only cleaner lol.. You'll love it.. best car I've ever had.
Are they still sending them out with Goodyear Mud Terrains (not the Kevlar sides) though).. it looks like it from your pic. I was not happy when I went to Goodyear to see about purchasing a couple of tyres for my upcoming trip only to be told that they don't make them anymore - so now I'm up for 6 new tyres..

Wow, that's disappointing about the tyres! I didn't realise they weren't making them anymore. I do love the landy though, it's great! I just wish it had a bigger fuel tank but I love everything else about it.

You may not have the same as mine though (fingers crossed that you don't).. and yep the fuel tank was a bit of a sore point for me too as the 'long range' tanks of about 44 litres are around $1700 fitted (that's a lot of fuel).. I am having a 240 litre tank made for the back if my car (means removing the rear seats) to get around it..

Sue, just buy two new tyres the same size. Matching tread pattern is nice but not a must. If you rotate them all they all wear the same anyway. Given where your going any potential binding (unlikely in same size tyres) will be lost in the dirt and sand.

I've asked around and what you say is correct; as in matching tread patterns are not the be all and end all..

The salesman however told me that I had to have all the tread patterns the same. I will need to replace all 4 tyres before my upcoming trip and I was looking to purchase a second spare at the same time - so 5 tyres in total to buy. I asked him if I could use my existing spare (untouched) for a 2nd spare and was told "not a chance".

Looks like I'll be taking my business elsewhere...

I think your salesman might possibly be a douche bag . Maybe he's trying to sell a whole set of tyres rather than a couple? I agree with newhue. On my old defender I rotated in the 'new' spare after 20k's on the four on the truck with no problem. Different sizes might be a problem but different treads (within limits) are not. Limits means not a super swamper and a highway terrain for example

The tread pattern is not the issue, its the rolling diameter that is the real problem, not good for the driveline.
