At the risk of provoking another holy war over tyre widths - I think you have nailed a key point.

We get a lot of different kinds of mud over here, hardly any rock, sand or shale. (On some trails a lot of smooth river-rock type boulders). I find the relatively narrow 255/85R16 MT work well here. On some surfaces (hard packed clay) even these narrower tyres don't get a full tread depth bite.

If I was to say the tyre size I choose was not ALSO about looks I would be lying. Having said that, they are practical and work for me. I do believe that is all that matters

hi all,

recent hols in new caledonia spotted few 90's, some 110's only got close to this one though for the pic. enjoy. btw -went to maccas for three large chips, small bottle of water and coke = $28.

Ha ha ha they're a big rip off. My Father in-law got stung, he walked into a supermarket bought a BBQ chicken and a hair comb $50. Ha ha ha, he never heard the end of it the rest of the holiday, I paid out on him, the hair comb was $20, and a $30 BBQ chicken. Sucker.....
