Looks good Povman. You are not concerned that your tyre size choice may void your transmission warranty?

Not sure if they void the warranty when they are the same size as the original tyres that were removed? Or is there something I'm missing?
I replaced the original 265/75/16's with 265/75/16's!
Please let me know if there would be a problem with this.
Thanks,
Povman.
Good looking Defender povman!
Are you sure the Defender didn't come standard with 235/85/R16 tyres? These tyres are the same height as the 265/75/R16 tyres, but narrower.
Very nice povman! - are you more "pov" now you bought a new puma?
Yup, 235/85 16's are standard.
The other implication, other than the warranty, from changing the tyres from 235/85s to 265/75s is insurance, both vehicle (ie comprehensive) and third party (ie included in registration). There may be a need to get an engineers certificate to verify that the change does not compromise the safety of the vehicle. Certainly the comprehensive insurer needs to know and the policy accordingly endorsed.
There has been a recent thread on the forum about this issue as it relates to changes in NSW (see http://www.aulro.com/afvb/general-ch...p-changes.html).
I am not trying to white-ant here. More concerned that people (including Povman) are aware that an apparently innocuous and harmless change to your vehicle can have significant and unforeseen implications.

Yeah, good point KarlB,
When purchasing the tyres, I questioned the sizing and was shown (by diagram) that there is a minimum and maximum size tyre to fit all wheel rims. The 265/75/16 was the maximum tyre allowable for the defender standard 16 inch rim..
Not sure though, if as you say, that it may affect insurance and warranty etc.
And yes Sleepy, I am more Pov now I have the Deefer......All worth it though!!
Povman.
povman, is that the standard height or have you done suspension work?
Great looking rig mate!
povman, approx what price are ARB slugging you for that list of mods? Are they fitting items also?
G'day zem, Thats actually standard suspension, haven't touched it yet! When arb fit ome suspension, they claim that i'll probably get another 10 to 20ml out of it purely because i'm going the heavy duty set up...After all the mods are fitted, including arb fridge, dual batt etc, she'll be pretty weighty i'm tipping, so it may not rise at all!
All up with everything that I've ordered with arb and getting them to fit the whole lot in one hit, minus tow bar,(already fitted) I won't get much change out of $10g!
Big bickies I know, but hoping to have this puppy for many years to come and trying to do it right the 1st time.
Hope this helps mate..
Povman.
You can actually put the 285/70 R16 on, only need to adjust the steering stops to stop the tyres from rubbing against the radius arm at full lock.
Also put on 265's this weekend. R8600 later
