They will, provided the vehicle is under warranty.

Not too sure about the cheap jerks comment but unfortunately, being a Land Rover dealer, Trivetts are somewhat restricted in what can be & can't be replaced.

If the bulletin was a Service Action, then the part would be replaced straight away.
Unfortunately, it's just a Technical Bulletin at the moment & therefore the sump is only to be replaced when it needs to be.

I know this isn't helping your cause which is why Ian has spoken with me. As I know what sort of driving you do & will be doing, I advised Ian that it would be prudent to have your sump replaced on your next visit here. The part is only worth $100 or so & it would be good insurance to replace it before anything did happen.
The same applies to Dullbird/Muddymech too.

I'm not sure our members realise JUST HOW LUCKY we are to have people like Scouse and Bigjon as regular LONG TIME contributers to this site.

Its easy to generalise about occupations,, but its NOT something we do here.

If you have a problem with Trivets,, TALK to Trivets!

If this was my forum I'd

(My apologies to DB and weeds)

Thanks for the info, Scouse - this is in essence what Austral here in Brisbane have told me too. They are trying to accommodate me with this issue, but if worse comes to worst I'll just buy the part.

Yes probably over the top saying cheap jerks but my point is that it is a cheap part and it should be changed. Defenders are purchased with the idea of doing some 4wding in and not as a shopping trolley. I would much prefer not to have it punctured in the bush where I can't get help or a decent repair or on it.

    I appreciate the help Scott.

For piece of mind, has anyone maxed out the articulation and seen if it hits anywhere? Thats the first thing i'd be doing. I mean seriously maxed out, like park 1 front wheel on a forklift, and lift the tines until the back wheel is 6 inches in the air. If nothing comes close to touching your little diesel sump, you haven't got a thing to worry about.

Mate - I've done some full on 4 wheel driving - over all sorts of terrain - with some cross axle driving - and have not got any witness marks - but the point is - what if I do have a problem somewhere remote - I'm traveling around the country in May and will be remote.

Have you got a spare forklift you can bring over?
