I'm a bit worried about the V8, naturally due to fuel economy and rego costs. Mind you, I won't be driving it that often, as it's a second car destined for weekend forays onto Moreton/Fraser or out bush. What options are there to swap it for a diesel?
If it is as good as the description, it is probably worth that, particularly if it does not have factory air. For the reason's you mention, V8 is a dirty word in the second hand car market, but it probably uses little if any more fuel than the Landrover four petrol engine, and probably less than the six, particularly if kept in tune and driven conservatively.
While possible, a diesel conversion is probably not economically viable unless you are doing a lot of mileage. But LPG conversion is, and with this it would probably be more financially viable than a diesel.

Sounds like a very fair price to me if it is as described. I paid more for mine
The majority of ones which come up are dogs, so a good one is always worth a look.
Ok, the V8 is does have a drink problem, but it does sound bloody good. If it's a weekend car it should not be too much of a worry.
I'd wonder about the cold aircon though. The original County aircon is hopeless, so I'd check that out.
Let is know how you get on - remember, it didn't happen without pics
just check its not that dog that someone on here almost bought - this vehicle was offered for sale again recently for about that price.
I'd do a search

I'm always a bit nervous about shiny new paint on old cars. I'd have a very close look at the firewall, especially the top corners and bottom sections of the A pillars. I've seen these carefully sculpted out of filler. Same with the door frames and all other steel parts. Obviously get under it and have a close look at the chassis with a bright light and a screw driver & hammer.
It's amazing what people will do to sell a car. A friend once bought an Alfa with some of the body work made out of paper mache. He found out at the inspection before purchase and, after poking some holes in the "pristine panels", bought it as a wreck for the price of the motor.

SupporterI saw this one. Was a little confused by the discription of 'cold aircon' when the vehicle pictured doesn't have aircon. Also the seller appears to be some sort of ebay used car salesman.
Does look quite tidy inside. I would have thought 3500 -4000 would have been more realistic.
