You can then just use a little pump with a switch in the cab to fill up the main from that tank etc.

It sounds like you have placed some thought into this as it is something i am looking at myself, Just remember that you don't want the tank to hang below the Chassis Rail or you may be unimpressed if you tank is on the ground after you have been 4WDing (considering the cost of Fuel).

Why not just buy purpose made sill tanks - they come up from time to time on ebay etc.

Cost!
