SupporterHi Guys, I am looking at a set of big horns and have read lots of good stuff on them in this forum, but can not find any thing on how noisey they are on the highway on a defender. I have been in a defender with the cooper muds (285/75) on it and they were extreamly noisey. Any feed back would be great. Cheers Jim.

SupporterCheers incisor dont sound too bad.
The Bighorns are noisier on the highway.
It depends on your noise tolerance levels...
Nothing is quiet in the Defender (drive-line noise, wind noise), so the tyre noise just adds to the mechanical tunes!
At 100kmh you can still have a conversation with the passengers ok, just talk a bit louder / clearer.
We just did a trip to Adelaide and back (900km of highway) on them, and I can still hear fine!

Does anyone know if Bighorns are still available in 255/85?

I fitted a set of big horns 10k ago and they are a very impressive tyre on and off road.I run mine 34 on the front 32 on the back and the ride quality over 235's is light years ahead. My defender doesn't have a worry turning them and they are no worse than any mud tyre,I'll stick my neck out and say better noise wise than most.I have mine fitted on 8x16's I bought on ebay for $20 for all 5. Pat
wow the prices you all are quoting seem very high, last time i checked around i could get them for around 235 each in 255/85 unless the price has increased substantialy i would keep shoping!

I have been very happy with my BFG's for quite a few years now but will look at the Bighorns closely before next winter when the time comes to replace
