    New Defender dual batteries

    Hey guys,
I know this has prob been discussed, I scearched and was unable to find to much info on the new defender, so hear goes.
    my question is
is there a duel battery tray setup or are you better going down the track of a sheet of ally to level up the under seat area and making your own tie downs?

would you go for a vsr to seperate the batterys?

    thanks for the help

There was some discussion here about the size of batteries that can fit in the space.

    But as for cradles:

Piranha have one for the Defender:

As to whether it suits the 2007+ model I don't know. The batteries have been turned East West rather than the single North South original orientation so whether the stock battery will fit turned around is a question?

By "vsr" are you referring to a charge controller?

If so then one of our sponsors has them:

here is ours with the traxide set up and no mods to the box....

pic just to give you an idea of how we did it the batterys are a very tight fit.

the battery lid has not been put back on yet i dont think as it needs to have rubber put on it.

and dont ask me how he tied them down becasue i'm not sure...., would have to ask him as the car is not here for me to look at

Piranha have one to fit the new 07 defender. The TD5 tray doesn't fit without mods (bolt holes are different). The original battery stays put, you just need to relocate the 'wheel chock and brace'.

Not as neat in my wiring as Dullbird's but its secure. I think that is the largest battery that will fit the tray also.
