    holley on 110 V8 ????

    Hey Guys...

Has any one changed there twin stromburgs.. ('spelling?) and intake manifold to suit a holley etc etc

I have found a edelbrock performance manifold to suit my 3.5 and was wondering if i put on a holley would I get any preformance increase or better economy out of doing this ???

Don't know much about carbs and all that, but its a new intake and I can get it for a resonable price, so I was thinking about changing it over if i could expect some decent results...

Holleys are very good on road but crap when you try to drive them over any angles. they starve of fuel very quickly. You would be better off with the strommies.

There is a mod kit out to fix the fuel starvation in the holley. Might be worth checking out when you get the holley quote.

    Cheers,

If it is an Edelbrock spread bore manifold, bung on a Rochester Quadrajet from a Holden V8, buy & fit the plastic float bowl packer which is the modification for off-road racing and away you go. Most advanced carburettor ever made and the next thing to fuel injection without the electronic unreliability.

im with brian on this one, the Rochester Quadrajet and Carter Thermoquad from the respective holden and ford camps of the early 80's were some of the best carbies around, holleys are essentially a poorly regulated fuel leak

    X3

If your going to have a carbi, that would be what to put on.

I fitted a Holley to my mates boat which has a 3.9 in it and we used a modified manifold which had a Holden 308 boss welded to it and then a holley adapter.

It is a bit crude but works very well in the boat but i have no idea of how it would work out in the real world on a 4wd.

THere are offroad kits to suit the holleys as well, but from experience with my mates old rangie, it didnt make alot of difference, My brother(lokka on here) modified his but filling the breather line in the top of the fuel bowl and dilling another on in the centre of the fuel bowl and running a taller pipe out of it to stop it from flodding on angles, it seems to have worked reasonably well.

A bit but the biggest saving will be not wasting your money on a hole with jetts (holley) in it
