Build date help please (for Export to the USA)

    Hi,
I've accepted a relocation offer with the company I work for, so will be heading to Utah in the next 2 months. All being well, pending final costings, I'll be taking my Stage 1 Ute in the same container as my household goods. It's over 25 years old; this is the age at which the DOT & EPA lose interest

I also have an 85 County, which is a gem (1 owner before me, just over 100k); I'm thinking of putting her into storage until she is 25 years old, then shipping her over, so could do with exact build date.

Any ideas how to get this?

    Cheers!

I've been in touch with these guys, it does not seem like there will be any major issues.

    Importing info.

I need to do some further digging over the next week or so though (as well as selling my house, two other cars, sort schools etc. etc. )

While you may be able to import a RHD vehicle will you be able to get it registered? I know some, if not all of the US states, have issues with this. Quite a few years back I was going to bring a jag back from the UK via the US, I was going to live in Seattle for a couple of years but at the time I would not have been able to get it registered there - in the end I did not go to the USA so the cat came direct for the UK to Aust.

Oh - isn't the build date under the bonnet somewhere?

i'm thinking of writing to the heritage trust,
i don't think you should be allowed to export your land rovers
surely they are culturely signifigant, and should remain on australian soil.
you can leave them in my care until your return, or donate them me.

god knows where i could park them, her indoors would have a fit!
just got rid of the sons old ford.

i hope your venture to the us of a is good for you.

Should be no worries as I understand it, as it is over 25 years old. I must admit I've got some more looking into this to do, but hopefully it'll all be fine.

    Cheers!
