I'm retro-fitting a 2000 TD5 aircon into a '86 County. I need photo's or position measurements of the mounting holes in the passenger foot well to fit the evaporator. I’ve got enough water leaks in the old girl without drilling another hole in the wrong spot!

You are in luck. I still haven't put mine back in yet after renewing the fan speed resistors, so I shall take some photo's and measurements tonight after work and post them as soon as I can.

OK, have taken the measurements and attached the photos.

The two rubber grommets were removed for the measurments.

The measurments refer to the distance from the hole centre to the inside surface of the steel footwell not the floor mat.

The big hole is 50mm Dia through the steel.
The small hole for the drain is 25mm Dia through the steel.

The rubber grommets should be available through a stealer or wreckers?

    Have fun.

Ray, your a life saver! Can you also measure/ take photo's of the holes in the top of the foot well. This is where the aircon mounting plate bolts to the footwell.

The aircon in my car doesn't mount to the top of the footwell. There are pieces of angle iron mounted to the dash where the speaker holes are. The aircon unit is fitted to these by two screws that pass through each end. There is also a long 6mm screw that goes through the centre of the aircon unit duct and into the dash below the radio panel and above the fuse box infront of the gear lever. The only holes in the footwell are the two in the pics in the previous post.

    Some photos to come shortly

Ahh bugger, the AC I got mounts differently. Sounds like I'll have to take to the foot well with one eye closed and my tounge sticking out for concentration At least the big hole will be in the right spot.

Photos of my aircon unit and brackets etc.

The blue arrows show where the holes are for the mounting screws.
