The floor is a lot flatter in the Puma. So nothing was moved

That second battery looks small Derek. What size / capacity is it?

We always squeeze 2 x Odyssey PC1700's in the battery box to get maximum reserve and capacity.

I wasn't so lucky to be able to fit my D.C battery in such a small space.
I bought a decent plastic battery box and fitted glands and cables and an electrical quick coupler to fit in the back and I secure it with tiedowns when I need it.
Most of the time it sits in the garage - quite a bit of weight the 95 Amp hour size.
I did secure the solenoid in the original battery box area also but I have to unplug the monitor as it always flashes error when the 2'nd battery is missing.

The battery is only 550CCA so yes it is on the small side but to run the Engel, UHF and a few small extras its not an issue.

The battery was my second battery in the Disco I had. D2 Td5 being so adaptable it had to be small and also its an Ag9 Silver Calcium one - not that heat will be as big an issue in the Defenders battery area

Don't want to even contemplate the price of an Odyssey battery in my neck of the woods

UK price is £258 inc VAT each... Cant exactly throw a couple in the rucksack and bring them over with me in November either, 27kg each!!

As it is I think I'll be taking a handbrake cable and handbrake pads for Leeds' 110!

    Jon

Same for my old 110. I'm sure the lever I hit my knee on is there for some reason, just doesn't do a lot

Yes, they would be very heavy..the excess baggage wouldn't be worth it.
We bought a pair of metal jacket PC1700's a couple of months ago and paid a similar price to you. ...A$500 each. Having said that, our last pair lasted over 8 years and we are still using one of them in our boat. When you work out buying 2 or 3 sets of calcium batteries over this period, the Odysseys are good value. On top of that you can fully recharge from flat in 1 hour and you can flatten them without damage. I recommend them.
    Cheers, Erich.

Yeah, I can recommend them too. One of mine is 9yrs old and still going strong. Excellent batteries and I think well worth the money.

    Jon
