    Is Gal in brisbane seriously $1.80 a kg?
    Only one place in Cairns and the current rate is $2.50/kg!!!!!

    If you want a good job with galvanising, ask if they can centrifuge the parts as they come out of the dip. This way the excess zinc comes off the part evenly rather than in drips and runs or worse still remaining on the item in clumps. Many of the large factories won't do it as it takes additional time and those that do it, can often only do it on small items.

    Also see if they can skim the bath of slag before they dip.

    If they wont let your fingers do the walking and find another galvaniser.

    Another issue which shouldn't be such a problem in Qld, is getting the galvanising done on a hot day, on very cold days the in southern clomates the zinc can crystalise too fast leaving a poor finish.

    my galed fire wall had a bend in the pass side A pillar. It was bent like a bananna, probably about 20mm distortion.

    When getting a chassis galvanised do extra drain holes need to be placed in the chassis? or will the standard drain holes suffice.
