Had the same problem as it was an import. RACQ and all thoses would not touch the car as it is an import, But i am with Shanoons who are fine with the car and Know what it is even though mine is a soft top Van
To get compliance plate, had to fit kilometres only speedo, and change driver's door mirror to plain glass.
I thought this so i bought a Brand new K's speedo in the Uk for $25 and and was going to fit it but did not need it for the compliance as the speedo had K's on the inside of the Miles. So it passed. But i did the K's speedo in anyway after the truck was on the road for a bit
Oblong W.A. number plate stuck out from side of vehicle. Had to fit bracket to stop it swinging in the breeze.
Biggest ongoing problem is being stared at by other Defender drivers. Have been asked in car park 'why I blocked up the rear side windows?'
