Hi all, first post and hopefully about to purchase a 2005 Td5 Defender....no doubt I will be looking for assistance and advice at some point!

Wanna start by getting my head around the ECU upgrades. Any advice on best option for the Td5 and whether an upgraded intercooler is of significant benefit on top of that?

Also if anyone has a gas injection fitted in conjunction with upgraded ECU I would be interested in your comments.

and what benefits from changing the "EGR" set-up ?

 Cheers

The 2005 ECU on a TD5 can be flash upgraded (2002 and prior can't be). You want to PM a bloke here called Toombie2 who does them. If you don't know how to PM just post back and someone will sort you out.

There have been a few threads on Gas injection, and there is one on the go ATM which sounded like it went pear-shaped, so you might want to PM them and see who did it so you can use someone else!

The EGR debate goes all ways. Some say no change others say brilliant. A quick search will turn up a few threads, and you could also search here for a UK perspective on the EGR issue: Land Rover Main Forum Sections - Land Rover UK Forums

Also - welcome to AULRO and keep on asking questions if you've got more.
 Cheers
 David
