My hassle with Landrover is that they normally wouldn't know a fault code if it came out their behind. It then comes down to me saying "oh so it normal that the engine does not start - but what about these fault codes". Sorry about my sarcasm but you all know what I'm talking about.

This Puma engine is also the biggest piece of crap out there!
Gee and someone said my comments came across a tad strong

Thanks for letting me about the ability to clear fault codes. I'm not sure I agree with you about the rest though.

I should probably explain myself a bit better.......

I just think as Defender drivers we got short changed with the upgrade. The new inside is great! The Tcdi Puma however is a weak motor in the Transit and probably too small for the Defender - even Ford / Mazda utes comes with a 3.0lt option. In my opinion the Td5 pulled heavy trailers far better and I found it easier to work on. Also the drivetrain is a problem. To fit the cat down the side of the chassis rail the engineers had to put the motor / gearbox / transfer on an angle which makes it a real pain to cure vibrations when the car is lifted.

I just think Ford gave the guys too shorter leash with new parts to work with - even the vents are out of a Ford Fiesta!

Mine will not be kept when the warranty ends.

This tread has moved on however from my original post which was mainly to say the BAS offer a very good product and the after sales support has been great!

They are also in the RAV4 I think they must be a stock vent part.

Good to get some feedback on the BAS unit. I'm really stuck if I get a fault code at present and missed the boat on buying one of these when the Pound was reasonable to the AU$, though its getting better again.
