Apart from OEM LR006447 Dog Guard (if available in Australia and looks fiddly), what are the options?

P.S. We really need a separate Puma thread
you mean thread or forum? I told you about the forum this forum works fine as it is. I asked for puma and I didn't get it's very simple just add PUMA in the title.

Interesting. I would not buy a vehicle that I couldn't get a cargo barrier for, so I guess I'll have to keep the Td5.

I rang Outback (the mob who make drawer systems in Cairns) - same story - no way.

They both quoted a 2010 end of product line as the reason they wouldn't make one.

Now - Black Widow do make one for the PUMA. But you need their drawer system to make it work.

So what have I done? I have an OL cargo net (like the ones used in aircraft). I have removed the rear sets and have it attached near the roof line at the rear grab handle point.
Thanks for the info. I wouldn't touch Black Widow with a barge pole. The verbal abuse I got from the Black Widow salesman at their stand at the National 4X4 Show in 2007 was beyond reproach - basically not printable on the forum. All I asked was what do you do for a Defender and in the end a guy with a Nissan walked off with me and said he felt sorry for the guys attitude and he would buy from someone like that either.

OK I meant forum, just thought if I drop a hint one day we might get one. I didn't expect the Spanish inquisition.

I'll apologise now and crawl back under a rock...

Don't get me started on the reasons for having a cargo barrier. This was my real first use of one and hopefully the last time I really need one: Milford Industries - Customer Feedback

and dropping hints for one day we might get one, we would get one if we needed one but not sure we need one...if we need one then td5's might need one and if they need one then tdi's might need one nthe list can go on and on

I guess that Milford have done their research...so many units per annum times 4 years divided by so much for R & D + tooling costs + materials + production run time + overheads and profit = so many squillion per unit.

OK the bean counters win. But how dare the bean counters assume that we won't pay for it.

And what about Milford's claimed moral high ground.

I am not about to be a victim.

I reckon they need to be brought to account.

I feel a petition or at least a poll coming on.

    Can we get some numbers?

I'm still to contact Milford, didn't get a chance today - bloody daylight savings means things are closed down south when I get home from work (except in WA)

Milford are a very proactive company and I found them very good and very R&D focused on bettering their products. What makes me curious about the Puma is that Milford would not have to re-engineer much as it is only a small bump in the floor that needs to be encompassed in the design. They faced the same issue with the 03MY D2 as the centre seat belt sits back about 1cm behind the seat to the pre-03MY. I know as I believe I was the first to have one fitted and Milford were surprised and fixed it. Not like a certain 4WD component store in Darwin who thought they could just modify a certified safety restraint to make it fit (all be it a little crooked) and all would be OK

I guess at the end of the day the bean counters will unfortunately win, but I would think UK sales alone would be an incentive or do the Brit's have preference to a different Defender load restraint

Anyway when I get a chance I'll ring Milford and see what they say. Keep you posted.

I was going to say something clever about contacting someone like Karcraft and organising a group order shipped in one of their containers - I spoke to them today about other stuff and they mentioned that they did similar special orders.

But then I spent half an hour looking for cargo barriers on UK sites, and it seems like they don't exist.

    Go figure.
