    TD5 130 CC - Exhaust Manifold

    G'Day all,

Hopefully a quick question (and answer) ... but I'm looking at a 130 CC and it's previous owner identified that he had to have the Exhaust Manifold machined!

Has anyone out there had this issue before? E.g. is it an expected thing!

Or could it possibly be an indication of something more problematic, such as overheating etc.?

The "search" function is your friend, if you search for td5 exhaust manifold, I'm sure you'll find plenty of information on it.
I think the jury is still out on the cause of it, but it is common that they warp and need machined. I think you could count it as a positive thing that it's been done, as you won't have to do it any time soon.

Very common. The rear stud breaks & the manifold warps over time.

There are a few theories going around on why & there's a 'fix' which involves drilling a larger hole to allow for manifold expansion so the stud doesn't break again.
