Not sure on the box (what year is it from might make it easier) but those linkages on the transfer look the same as a discovery S1, which are common as anything.

Hi all, would some one out there be able to tell me what kind of 5 speed gear box I have in my 110? the reason I ask is it seams Iam missing a few linkages that engauge low/high range. Iam only used to working on series 1s & 2As thanks.

What year and what engine???
Hi,
thats a LT77, type 52A suffix D, from a V8 range rover classic , circa 1983/84,
the transfer case is a 1.192 ratio LT230,
Dave
Dave, I know this type of stuff is your bread and butter - but that level of detail is scary
I have visions of you placing a stethoscope against the box and telling us that the syncho in second is worn and smelling the transmission fluid and telling us it should have been replaced 17,432km ago.
'95 110 300TDI, F&R ARB Lockers, Twine Shower, Aux Sill Tank, Snorkel, Cargo barrier, 9 seats, swingaway wheel carrier, MadMan EMS2
'85 110 Isuzu NA 4BE1 3.6l Diesel, 0.996 LT-95, Rear Maxi (SOLD)
'76 SIII 109" Nissan ED33 5-SP Nissan GBox (SOLD)
i belive its a 1985 110 with the 3.5 V8. I bought it as a project vehcile ive just finshed modifiying a series 3 firewall to fit the 110 as the one i have is stuffed from rust.
i was led to believe once (when thinking about putting an r380 in our 200tdi) that there really wasn't that much of a margin in strength between the 2 boxs that would warrent you to change it........
needless to say we were talking diesels not petrols
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
You are talking about the LT77S (S=strengthened), not the LT77. When Santana and Land Rover parted ways, LR lost the right to use the LT85 in the V8 110s, so made a few upgrades to the LT77.
Fitting an LT77S would be another option, and would be bolt in I think.
However according to Dave Ashcroft, the suffix K-onwards R380s are the strongest 5-speeds in a rover (or at least as strong as an LT85 (santana box)).
