All I can say is go an compare the weight of Wolf rims for the 130 and Disco 1 rims, the Disco rims are featherweights in comparison. Yes the 130 rims are only 6.5" while the Disco are 7" but your 130 is carrying a heavier vehicle with a much greater potential to be overloaded.

British 4WD Imports in Melbourne have new tubeless Wolf rims for around $200 each and similarly Karcraft in Sydney.

Says who??? I can't find a load rating on any of my 15 disco 1 rims, and they are heavier construction than a standard 130 rim.

that is most interesting i forgot about the disco rims, though i dare say the rating on them was purely for the disco, if you reckon they are good enough i might keep em peeled for a set i was talking to someone today about sunrayser etc as though i love a standard defender 130 i don't really love the wheels much thanks

dunno about that either my 130 wheels one lump of metal disco wheels have cut outs
what is the kerb weight of a disco ....i think the 130 is around the same as a 127 3.500kg

I've heard this before from an old ummm aquiantance.... supposedly hit a rock on the side of the rim at 90k in an outback challenge style comp and didn't dent it.

They used to be TX1's but looks like maybe changed there name or upgraded... these are the specific ones i'm thinking of though... and they don't colour code the whole rim, just inserts etc if you want or can have the inserts machined till shiny etc... very bling :D

Mate of mine got some tube type 1998 130 rims,(Wolf type looking) and fitted 7" disco tubeless bands to them with the 130 offset. They look factory but 1/2" wider. He has 255/85/16 tyres on them and they are on a 4BD1 turbo intercooled 1995 130CC

but as said before you would think they would be stronger than a sunraysia rims.............

darn insurance companys :p

If you follow up on Diana's link about the $200 per rim Wolfs, you'd be getting a good price. I paid $240 ea 'cause they had to get freighted to Adelaide I suppose.

They normally live on my 130 (which you can just see in the background) but I swapped them around for a while.
