My Low fuel warning light used to work fine. Now it is erratic, and sometime comes on and stays on at 3/4 tank or even higher!!!

I always thought this was part of the sender, but it seems to work independantly???

Before I pull the tank out, has onyone replaced this before? Do I need a complete sender? Anyone have pics?
