Hi all , does anybody know where one can buy for the defender a bull bar that bolts to the standard bumper bar ? I have seen these bars on defenders before (one pictured in "show us your deefers" thread ) and would suit my needs, eg. overall length restrictions in garage , no winch etc.

We used to have several Series 2A's on the sheep station which had flat iron bars which looked like they bolted ontop of the front bumber. The down side was that it was difficult to get decent supporting struts....the radiator on the series landies is well behind the front wings and even then the support struts that went to the front longitudinals weren't sufficient....or was it because I keep bashing stuff?no no it was.
As for Deefer airbags, the MY08 model has a 'cushion' on the wheel, and it's a strange looking carbunkle that looks like it came out of the late 80's parts bin - County/Stage One?? But definately not an airbag.
The distance between driver and wheel is so reduced, an airbag is likely to punch the driver into the back seat/rear tray. Grandfather rules, 1950's body percentiles and ADR compliance!!

Is this similar to what you are talking about?
This was on my old Defender.
It does mount straight onto a standard bar. It only sticks out further because of the winch tray
Sorry thats probably one of the best photos I have of it
