If you are changing the springs to lift it two inches, why not get springs that lift it the height you want, rather than use spacers?

hi ive got a defender 90 and i am going to lift it 2inches but i would like it a bit higher does anyone know of spring spacers on defenders because i know they make them thanks very much

you cant lift suspension more than two inches if you dont want to spend more the 3 grnad on just the suspension
What makes you say that?
Coil springs shouldn't cost any different whether 2 inch or 3 inch lift.
Spacing 2 inch springs by one inch would give you all of the issues a 3 inch lift will anyway (Castor angle, shock length, potential bush binding, etc). Plus you would have possible spring binding, cured only by extending bumpstops.

i have an 80mm lift, springs cost me 500 for the 4 and the shocks cost me 400...
shane from suspension stuff has 2'' lift kits for under a grand... on a 90 with 2'' lift all thats required is extended bumpstops and a small spacer made for the rear brake ''t'' bracket. the OE tailshafts etc are fine. it may wander slightly but slotted swivells are only 300 a pair.

but yes you can use spacers if you want.

						Spacers can be handy for fine tuning the level of the vehicle - front to rear or side to side, but as said, spring binding is a potential issue to be aware of - probably not going to be an issue with 25mm or less spacers.
I have 15mm spacers in the front of my 110 and am happy with them.
I've used 30mm spacers for a very cheap lift on GQ Patrols with no adverse effects.
They also provide some degree of vibration insulation for what its worth, (most vehicles have some sort of rubber pad between the spring and chassis - early 110's at least dont)
standard 90 spring rates will not coil bind with or with out spacers.
they are 175lb front and 210-240lb progressive rear. i have spring free lengths quite a bit taller than the OE stuff and at softer rates and im close to full bind.

so whats the verdict would you go more than two inches lift or not and if you did lift it what would you use to lift it thanks very much for your input
i would/did go more but you will need to do caster correction and fit taller tyres to fill the guards
but in saying that 2'' in a defer90 is heaps!
