    Blown Motor/traction control?

    Hi Guys,

I have recently purchased a 01 td5 110 ute (blown motor)but got for a good price, looking at importing one from the uk, just trying work out a shipping price, any ideas on what shipping company to use.

Also does this modle have traction control?

    Any help would be great.

    Cheers Ben.

You want to import an engine??? Save your money and rebuild the one you have.

The 110 wagons had TC the 130 Dual Cabs didn't and I don't think the 110 Utes did either. Is it an ex-Telstra one? They had a number of them that they flogged to death.

    Hey,

The motor has been very badly over heated, so badly that the piston has started to melt and left alloy on the bore. The previous owner had taken it the MR automotive and was quoted $9000 to rebuild???. Does this sound right?

If you were patient you could find a used td5 for far less than that. I have seen them in ther past for sale as low as $4500 (but normally a bit higher) in running order.

There have been a couple on ebay recently. Keep an eye out.
$9k for a full rebuild would be about right.
I would think about a Duramax V8 Diesel with an allison auto.
    or a 5.7 Chev petrol.
