She's a GSP so medium sized. I wouldn't want a small dog in a Defender. If it was sitting on the floor when you were driving along it might fall out.
I suppose if I had a Boxer I could use the drool to check for leaks around the door seals![]()

Just an update.
The latest quirk is that when I get out - down the shops - and press the lock button on the fob, the horns sound for a miss-lock. It's very LOUD
Anyway, I've now traced the fault to the driver's door. If I hold the switch in everything is fine. I've now unscrewed and jiggled the switch, put it back and all seems OK for now.

at least you got a horn part of ours isn't working so when you hit it coz someone has cut you up or somthing its sounds like a friggin noddy car....and the people you are beeping **** them selves laughing![]()
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......
That sounds like one side is not connected. Check the fuses as they may be off separate fuses and check the wire(s) to the horns. There's one on each side in the vents under the park lights.
Easiest way to check is get Ian to place his head down low near one of the head lights and you toot the horn. Then repeat the process on the other side and see whether he can notice any difference - of course he might go deaf too![]()

Derek,
It will be the same fault causing this. The alarm ECU also works off the door switches. It see's one of them open...the faulty one...& thinks the door is still open & a mislock alarm is heard.
Also from memory the Alarm horn is different from the normal 2 horns..
Will clarify this as on the D2 it is & from memory i recall seeing a 3rd horn in the Defender.
Cheers.
Thanks Pete, already new about the switch being for the alarm and light. Don't know about a 3rd alarm horn. There's one on each side at the front of the Puma, can't recall seeing a 3rd one though. I can tell you that a miss-lock is a lot louder than it was on the DiscoScared the daylights out of me when I pushed the button the first time it happened.
